The suspended monarch of Orile Ifo Ogun State, Oba Adewale Semiu Ogunjobi ,Olorile of Orile Ifo was on Tuesday, February 4 arraigned by the Nigeria Police before an Ifo Magistrate Court on a three-count charge of assault, conspiracy, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
The arraignment in court was the response of the police authorities to the Oba’s public assault and battery on a member of his community, 73 year old Elder Abraham Areola.
He was granted bail with two sureties in ₦5million each in like sum, who must be residents within the court’s jurisdiction.
March 6 2025 has been slated for the next hearing of the case against the embattled King who was suspended by the Ogun State Government after the video of his assault on Areola went viral.
The Ogun State Police Command had interrogated the embattled monarch on the assault and his claim that he had control of the police on Monday February 3 . He also boasted in the the viral video that led to his suspension that he would ensure that his victim was sent to jail through his connection with the police.
Adejobi Olumuyiwa the Force Headquarters Public Relations Officer confirmed the police interrogation of the monarch with a promise that further action would be taken and justice would prevail.
