The Shao venue of the event literally turned to a carnival of Prayers and Praises today as Dr. Bolaji Afolabi, a Veterinary Doctor, a Politician, a Community leader and a Prince of Shao in Moro Local Government of Kwara State becomes a septuagenarian.
Before the reception and entertainment of friends and guests who came to felicitate the celebrant, prayers were led by the Chief Imam of Shao and was followed by a sermon by Ustaz(Dr) Ridwanullahi Apaokagi.
Afolabi, an exemplary family man and a grassroot mobiliser was a key figure in the 2018/ 2019 ‘O toge’ revolution that changed the political history of Kwara

Dr. Afolabi was also the Secretary of the SDP/Hakeem Lawal Campaign Council during the 2023 political campaign in the State.
He is presently the Convener of Moro Omoluabi Group, a socio-political platform seeking more relevance for the Moro people in the State.
In his remarks, Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal, the SDP gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election in the state prayed for the celebrant and maintained that “his sacrifice and commitment have made him a specially revered person among his generation, one who we all benefit from his profound wisdom.”
Lawal added that Afolabi remains “a senior citizen who is young at heart and passionate about whatever he delves into. He is a moral compass for us, one who never compromises right for wrong, and strives to do right by people.”
