FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC has made important changes at the helm of its Board of Director

FrieslandCampina WAMCO extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Moyo Ajekigbe, OFR for his exemplary leadership and significant contributions during his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2010 to 2025. Mr. Moyo Ajekigbe, OFR, a seasoned banker with over 32 years of experience, has been instrumental in guiding the company through various phases of growth and transformation. His tenure saw the implementation of innovative strategies that enhanced operational efficiency and strengthened the company’s market position.

Under Mr. Moyo Ajekigbe’s stewardship, FrieslandCampina WAMCO achieved remarkable milestones, including the commencement of Dairy Development, expansion of product portfolio and the enhancement of its corporate governance framework. His dedication to fostering a culture of excellence and his unwavering commitment to the company’s values have left an indelible mark on FrieslandCampina WAMCO.

Mr. Moyo Ajekigbe, OFR- “As I step down as Chairman, I want to thank every stakeholder, shareholder and community who have made my journey a successful one. Leading a company such as FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC was a great honor. I would like to thank the Board of Directors, Management Team and Staff that made it easy to fulfill our mission to Nourish Nigerians with quality dairy nutrition. I am confident that my successor will take the company to even greater heights.

As Mr. Moyo Ajekigbe, OFR, retires after 15 years of excellent service, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC announced the election of Mr. Yinka Sanni as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective May 8, 2025.

Mr. Yinka Sanni brings to FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC Board a wealth of experience spanning over three and a half decades in the financial services sector. He has held various leadership roles, including his most recent position as Group Executive at Standard Bank Group. Mr. Sanni’s extensive background includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Africa Region at Standard Bank Group and Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC. His expertise in retail banking, wholesale banking, and asset management, coupled with his strategic vision, will be invaluable in steering FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC towards continued growth and innovation.

Mr. Sanni holds a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Master of Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University. He has also attended advanced leadership programs at Harvard Business School and The Wharton School.

Mr. Yinka Sanni – “I would like to commend Mr. Moyo Ajekigbe, OFR, for his great leadership during his tenure. As I step in, I am counting on the support of the Board of Directors, Management, Employees and Shareholders to work together to remain the leading dairy company in Nigeria. Our path to continue the heritage of being a household name for dairy nutrition and nourishing Nigerians will go on.”

Commenting on these changes, Mr. Roger Adou, Managing Director, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, stated: “Mr. Moyo Ajekigbe’s journey has strengthened the Company’s commitment to sustainability, innovation and community engagement, which have been pivotal in positioning our company as a leader in the dairy industry. As we welcome our new Chairman, Mr. Yinka Sanni, we are confident that his wealth of experience will sustain our agenda of profitable and sustainable growth while nourishing Nigerians with quality dairy nutrition.”.

As Mr. Yinka Sanni takes on this new role, FrieslandCampina WAMCO is confident that his leadership will usher in a new era of growth and innovation. The Board of Directors of FrieslandCampina WAMCO congratulates Mr. Yinka Sanni and wishes him a successful tenure.
