POLICE RECOVER ROCKET LAUNCHER FROM BANDITS

The police in Kebbi state has recovered rocket launcher from bandits in Danko/Wasagu local government area after a gun duel with combined team of policemen and vigilantes.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Titus Musa, announced this at a news briefing at the headquarters of the command in Birnin Kebbi.
He stated that unknown bandits invaded Dan-Umaru village in Bena district, and on receipt of the report, combined team of policemen from Dan-Umaru police station and vigilantes swiftly responded by engaging them in gun duel.
The team successfully repelled the attack and recovered the rocket launcher while the bandits escaped with gun-shot wounds. Elsewhere, the commissioner of police said one Aminu Bello of Almasira area Jega town has been arrested for culpable homicide after stabbing Abdulmajid Nasiru of the same address who went to collect his N485,000 from the suspect.
Mr. Titus Musa said the command also apprehended one of three suspects who chartered a motorcyclist but hit him on the head with an iron rod and took away the motorcycle worth N470,000.
The police has recovered the motorcycle and also arrested another suspect with dissembled motorcycle spare parts. In addition, four persons are now in custody for armed robbery, illegal possession of prohibited arms in Danko/ Wasagu LG who robbed a man of three motorcycles valued at N800,000.
