The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Kwara State, Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal has congratulated indigenes of the State nominated for the 2022 National Award of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to be given by President Mohammed Buhari.

Notable Kwarans on the nominee’s list include World Class Neuro Surgeon and Philanthropist, Professor Wale Sulaimon, who is also the Party’s candidate for the Kwara South Senatorial Candidate.

The other distinguished Kwarans who made the list are Alhaji Lai Mohammed (CON), Hon. Justice Sulyman Kawu (OFR), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi (OFR), Sheikh Muhammad Tajudeen Adigun (OON), Alh. Kamoru Ibitoye Yusuf (MON), and CSP Benedict Okoh Ajide (MON) who made the list posthumously.

In a release from his Media Office on Sunday, Lawal maintained that this “these distinguished Kwarans are indeed worthy of the prestigious recognition, as they have contributed to humanity in great measure.”

He also congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the nomination of the Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Dr. Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa Al-miskinubilahi (OON).

The Awards will be presented by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 11, 2023 to a total number of 437 recipents at the State House Abuja.

In the list, the title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) has 5 recipients, Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) 54 awardees, Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) 67.

The Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) has 64, Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) 101, Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) 75, Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) 56, and Federal Republic Medal (FRM) has 8 award recipients.
