The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Kwara State, representatives of Governor Sanwoolu of Lagos and that of Business Mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote were among the great circle of political heavyweights and business men that graced the wedding of Dr. Islamiyat Omotoyosi Mohammed, grand-daughter of Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed on Saturday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
While Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, represented the Governor, the wedding venue was a like a carnival to the see of heads that came to witness the wedding reception between Toyosi and her heart throb, Engineer Abubakar Sambo.
For instance, the entire ranks of the SDP in the State was visible at the event as they came to celebrate with Alhaji Lai Mohammed who is regarded as one of the leading political lights in the North Central State.
Apart from the gubernatorial candidate, other stars at the event include Alhaji Adamu Attahiru Manko (Kwara North Senatorial Candidate); Prof. Wale Suleiman (Kwara South Senatorial Candidate); Dr. Ridwan Apaokagi (Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate); Alhaji Ganiyu Cook Olododo (Rep. Kwara Central Rep. Candidate) and Alhaji Ndamusa Guyegi (Rep. Kwara North Rep. Candidate)
The others include Alhaji Bolaji Khaleel, the DG of SDP Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Bolaji Afolabi, the Secretary of the party’s Campaign Organisation, Prince Adesoye Nurudeen and a host of House of Assembly Candidates.
Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State and Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa and former, Chairman of the State APC and Board Chairman of the Nigerian Broadcast Commission, NBC were also at the event.
Others include Bukky Ponnle, General Manager, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN; Mansur Liman, Director General Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN; Segun Adeyemi and Williams Adeleye, Special Assistants (Presidency) in the office of the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture.
Speaking at the occasion, Bolarinwa advised the new couple to promote the spirit of love, tolerance and endurance as they lay the foundation of a new home.
