PRESS RELEASE
The Kwara State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has received credible Intel on sinister plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its agents to circumvent the wishes of the Kwara electorates come March 18 Gubernatorial and House of Assembly polls.
As a patriotic and progressive party, with unflinching loyalty and dedication to sustenance of constitutional democracy and holding sacred, the exclusive right of the electorates to chose whomsoever they desire to lead them at various levels, we’re forced to come out and expose the sinister and cowardly plans of the ruling APC to thwart the wishes of the people.
Credible intelligence at our disposal has it that the ruling APC in Kwara State has perfected its rigging plans and institution of electoral violence on the electorates towards ensuring they win by hook or crook.
We also have it on good authority that at the centre of it all is a serving cabinet member from Moro local government area of the State, an House of Assembly member from Ifelodun local government and a National Assembly aspirant from Kwara Central.
The targeted local governments include but not limited to Offa, Ifelodun, Irepodun, Baruten, Moro and Ilorin East local government area of the State.
We thus use this opportunity to alert the security agencies, our party members and the general public to be at alert and ensure that the wishes of the people prevails on the election day.
It’s our hope that the various security agencies will promptly swing into action and bring the full weight of the law to bear on all would be saboteurs of the collective wishes of Kwarans, no matter how highly placed, without fear or favour.
In the same vein, we use this opportunity to enjoin the generality of Kwarans to not only troop out enmass to vote Alh. Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal as Governor and all our 24 House of Assembly candidates, we enjoin them to wait after casting their ballot and ensuring their votes really count.
Signed
Alh. AbdulAzeez Afolabi,
