Dr. Bolaji Afolabi, the Convener of the Moro Omoluabi Group, MOG, a strong social political group of the APC in Moro Local Government of Kwara State has saluted Muslim faithful in the State and in Nigeria on the occasion of this year’sE ld-el Kabir.
In a message released from Saudi Arabia where he has gone to perform this year’s pilgrimage, Afolabi urged Nigerians to use this auspicious occasion to renew their faith in our nation, while also praying that God should restore to us those values that place a high premium on human life and love of neighbours.
He added that the significance of the season goes beyond the festivities of eating and drinking, but the real essence is to encourage self-discipline, sacrifice and piety.
According to him, it is important that the lessons and messages the occasion teaches are not lost on us, while urging Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, obedience to God and the values of the sacrifice bequeathed to the world.
“I also want to use the occasion to urge the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and in Kwara State to be steadfast in praying for the peace, unity and progress of our beloved country,” Afolabi said.
The Shao Prince also
noted that “as we celebrate, it’s time to remember those who may not be as fortunate as we are, and we should therefore extend hands of love and empathy to people around us.”
