Twenty fourĀ hours after it issued the Certificate of Return to Governor FINTIRI who triumphed the ADAMAWA gubernatorial election concluded with a supplementary poll on April 18, the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, which serves as the nation’s electoral umpired has denied any partisan role in the process.
In a statement on Thursday by Barrister Festus Okoye, INEC’s National Commissioner in Charger of Information and Voters Education, INEC also denied having any nocturnal meeting with anybody in Adamawa’s Government House.
The supplementary poll conducted last Saturday has raised a thick dust that consumed the State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner who had earlier announced the victory of APC’s BINANI, a job that is constitutional meant for the Returning Officer.
The Police have also been called to investigate the circumstances and actors involved the impasse and drama that surrounded the supplementary poll.
