Hon. Iyiola Alabi Adetunji, the former candidate of Oloru/Malete/Paiye Constituency under the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP), in his usual tradition spanning over four (4) years, hosted his political associates and group across wards in Moro Local Government. The get-together was held in his country home, Shao on 3rd January, 2024 to usher in the New Year.
He used the opportunity of the get-together to appreciate all his political associates for an unflinching support for him during the last elections and further emphasized the need for total dedication in the year ahead. He admonished all his associates and group members to embrace challenges with determination and also used the occasion to specially appreciate his two political leaders present at the get-together – Chiefs TAS Oyebiyi and Dr. Bolaji Afolabi who have been pillars of support not only to him and other young ones but also to the political group as a whole.
Later, the Chairman of the occasion who also doubles as the leader of the political group, Chief T.A.S Oyebiyi thanked Hon. Iyiola Alabi Adetunji for doing what is expected of him as a person with a clear vision on how we can collectively develop Moro LGA. He thereafter appeal to all the members present that in all our dealings, behaviours, utterances as members of this group, we should endeavour to exhibit the traits of “Omoluabi”, act and showcase the yearnings and aspirations of the founding fathers of Moro LGA.
Dr. Bolaji Afolabi thanked all present in Shao, from far and near to attend this occasion in spite of various challenges. He charged all the members of the group present there to be decent in their dealings and plead that as explained by Chief T.A.S Oyebiyi, they must always exhibit ‘omoluabi’ traits.
Dr. Bolaji Afolabi thereafter used the occasion to note that “As a group, we are not in conflict or fighting any other group, but working within the main stream of Kwara politics for dividends of democracy for our people at large. Commencing from this January, 2024, our monthly meeting will commence in the house of our leader, Chief T.A.S Oyebiyi as usual.” As earlier noted, because of their ‘omoluabi’ traits. Dr. Afolabi unveiled the name of the group to be known as ‘Moro Omoluabi Group’. He said, “Our vision and aspiration is to support all our elected representatives from President of Nigeria; His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Kwara Governor,
Hon. Ayanshola Saliu Lawal, Honourable representing Oloru/Malete/Paiye Constituency, Hon Medinat Afolabi Honourable representing Lanwa/Eji Constituency, Senator Sadiq Umar of Kwara North and Hon. Saba of Moro/Edu/Patigi Federal House of Representatives.”
