The Kwara State Government today, Thursday 4th of January 2024, presented 2nd Class letters of appointment and Staff of Office to the newly appointed OLUDOFIAN OF IDOFIAN in Ifelodun Local Government Council, His Royal Highness Oba Alhaji Olarewaju Adedamola Omikunle and His Royal Highness Oba OLANIYAN David ADEKUNLE as ELEKAN OF EKAN LAND from Oke-Ero Local Government Council at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development.
The Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr Kayode Alabi who was represented at the presentation ceremony by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon Abubakar Abdullahi Bata congratulated the newly appointed Monarchs on their well-deserved appointments.
The Deputy Governor disclosed that today’s occasion was long awaited by the good people of IDOFIAN and EKAN, adding that the large turn out of people is a clear demonstration of the choice of the People and the Communities concerned.
Mr Kayode further disclosed that the present administration under the amiable leadership of His Excellency The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq (CON) has always accorded due recognition, respect and support towards the Traditional Rulers since the inception of the present administration which has greatly assisted the Royal Fathers in the discharge of thier Traditional responsibilities.
Also speaking at the event is the Honourable representing the good people of Oke-Ero at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Olajire Bamigboye Kuti thanked the State Governor for allowing the wishes of the People to come to reality by the appointment of the new Elekan of Ekan land.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Council, Hon Jide Ashonibare congratulated Oludofian of Idofian on his appointment and he implored him to extend his hand of friendship to other contestants in order to foster harmonious relationship for the development of the Community.
The Chairman thanked his Excellency for allowing the wishes of the People manifest in the appointment of the new Monarch.
The Monarchs in thier respective acceptance speeches thanked the State Government over their appointments and assured that the confidence reposed on them to pilot the affairs of their respective communities would be justified.
In his vote of thanks Barrister Anthony Towoju a Former Commissioner in the State, thanked the Government for making the long awaited ceremony become a reality and most importantly for allowing the wishes of Communities become a reality through the choices of the Monarchs.
