A repentant Boko Haram member, Musa Dauda, has been arrested and confessed to the murder of his wife, Hafsat Musa, in Borno State. The gruesome act was allegedly committed due to suspicions of her involvement in an extramarital affair with a farmer.
The police received information about the incident recently when two individuals, Uwani Bello and Nura Mohammed, reported discovering Hafsat Musa’s lifeless body partially buried in the ground on a farm.
It was revealed that on September 12, 2023, Musa Dauda, a former Boko Haram terrorist who had since repented, had invited his divorced wife, Hafsat Musa, to meet him on her farm near Mohammed Goni Stadium in BULUMKUTU Area. However, she never returned home.
The case was reported to the police several days later, and an investigation was initiated. After locating and arresting Musa Dauda recently he confessed to the crime.
He stated that he had encountered his wife with another person on the farm and, in a fit of rage, struck her on the head with a hoe, causing her to become unconscious. He then buried her on the same farm before fleeing.
The State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) has launched a thorough investigation, and Musa Dauda is expected to be prosecuted for the murder of his former wife
