The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping societies, economies, and cultures in profound ways. In the realm of mass media and democracy, AI has introduced both opportunities and challenges. On one hand, AI-driven technologies are transforming news production, content distribution, audience engagement, and access to information. On the other, they raise pressing concerns about misinformation, deepfakes, data privacy, ethical use, algorithmic bias, and the erosion of trust in democratic institutions.
This conference provides a platform for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and industry leaders to critically examine the intersections of these three domains. It seeks to explore how AI is reshaping media practices and democratic participation, to interrogate the risks and unintended consequences of unchecked technological adoption, and to chart pathways for harnessing AI responsibly to strengthen democratic values and the integrity of public communication.
Bringing together diverse perspectives, the conference aims to foster dialogue, share research findings, and generate actionable insights that can guide the development of policies, innovations, and ethical frameworks. In doing so, it underscores the urgent need to balance technological advancement with human values, media accountability, and democratic resilience in an age of rapid digital transformation.
