Mrs. Eniola Fadayomi, former Chairman of Financial Standard Newspapers who recently bagged a Lifetime Achievers Award at the 30th Commemoration Awards organized by Thisday Newspaper with the theme: “Thisday @ 30 When the going get tough… the tough get rewarded” was the immediate Chairman of African Prudential Plc.
Fadayomi was also a two-time commissioner in Lagos State: first as Attorney General and later as Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation .
Her remarks about the THISDAY AWARD: “I am very honoured and grateful to be given this award among the best of Nigerians from different walks of life.
This 30th anniversary of Thisday brings a lot of memories to my mind.
I recalled when Nduka Obaigbena walked into my office in Lagos State as a very young slim man and introduced himself as the editor of Thisday”. “By the time he left, I said to myself that this is a very serious minded young man and here we are after 30 years, it’s now a matter of history.
I want to use this opportunity to thank those people who have encouraged and given me opportunities to serve.”
