The management of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria has described as misleading, the report of an “alleged overwhelming situation of food poisoning and stretched admission facilities at Covenant University, accompanied by misleading claims of an unbearable situation on campus resulting in numerous student admissions for dehydration due to a diarrhea disease outbreak.”
According to the statement released by the School on Monday, “these claims do not represent the truth as the health situation of our students is not out of the ordinary. Covenant University continues to take all necessary measures to ensure the health and well-being of all students, faculty, and staff at all times.”
The statement added that “Covenant University and its students remain as peaceful as they have always been. We, therefore, urge our esteemed parents and guardians to remain calm and trust in our covenant commitment to providing a safe and conducive learning environment.”
The School maintained that its students are well, “and we are focused on ensuring they are in the right frame of mind to successfully undertake their upcoming examinations.”
“We request our esteemed parents and guardians to pray along with their wards as they prepare for the forthcoming examinations,” the school said.
